Morning - Visit of Zugspitz Summit – Top of Germany
An unforgettable experience – take the Zugspitzbahn cogwheel train or the Eibsee cable car to the summit of Germany´s highest mountain (2,962 m). From the top, you will enjoy panoramic views of Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland. There´s also a museum and restaurant at the top.
Afternoon - Visit the crystal-clear lake Eibsee, nestled at the foot of the Zugspitze.
This breathtaking lake is surrounded by lush forests and dramatic alpine scenery. You can take a leisurely walk around the 7.5 km loop trail, rent a paddle boat, or simply relax on the shore and enjoy the view.
Evening - Stroll through Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Morning - Partnach Gorge Explore one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in the area. The Partnach Groge is a narrow gorge carved by the Partnach River, with waterfalls, dramatic rock walls, and tunnels. The walk through the gorge is about 800 meters and is easily accessible from the Olympic Ski Stadium.
Afternoon - Olympic Ski Jump Stadium Visit the historic 1936 Olympic Ski Jump stadium. Walk around the grounds and admire the impressive architecture and scenic mountain backdrop. If you´re feeling active – take a guided tour to visit the top of the Olympic Ski Jump and learn more about the history and current competitions or take the trail toward the Eckbauerbahn or continue hiking to Wamberg, one of Germany´s highest villages.
Evening - Stroll through Partenkirchen Take a walk down the historic Ludwigstraße in Partenkirchen, lined with colorful houses decorated with traditional murals. Morning - AlpspiX Viewing Platform Take the Alpspitzbahn cable car up to the AlpspiX, a steel viewing platform suspended over a 1,000-meter vertical drop. From here, you´ll get stunning views over Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the surrounding Alps. We recommend combining the visit with one of the numerous hikes around the Alpspitzbahn mountain station. Among others, you can start the Natursteig Osterfelder from here.
Afternoon - Michael Ende Kurpark A peaceful park in the center of Garmisch dedicated to the author of The Neverending Story. A great place for a quiet afternoon stroll.
Evening - Garmisch Brewery Visit a local brewery, taste some traditional beer and enjoy a delicious Bavarian dinner.

At the top, visit the museum and restaurant. In the afternoon, explore the crystal-clear Eibsee lake at the mountain’s base, where you can walk the 7.5 km trail, rent a paddle boat, or relax by the shore surrounded by stunning alpine scenery.
Day 3: Partnach Gorge and Olympic Ski Jump Stadium
Discover the stunning Partnach Gorge, a narrow, 800-meter walk along the Partnach River featuring waterfalls, dramatic cliffs, and tunnels. Easily accessible from the Olympic Ski Stadium.
In the afternoon, visit the historic 1936 Olympic Ski Jump stadium, explore the grounds, and enjoy the mountain views. For the active, take a guided tour to the top of the jump or hike nearby trails to Eckbauerbahn or Wamberg, one of Germany’s highest villages.
Day 4: AlspiX Viewing Platform and Hiking
Take the Alpspitzbahn cable car up to the AlpspiX, a steel viewing platform suspended over a 1,000-meter vertical drop. From here, you´ll get stunning views over Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the surrounding Alps. We recommend combining the visit with one of the numerous hikes around the Alpspitzbahn mountain station. Day 5: Linderhof Palace and Oberammergau
Linderhof Palace, the smallest of the three palaces built by King Ludwig II, is also the only one completed during his lifetime. This opulent retreat offers guided tours through its lavish interiors, including the royal bedchamber, dining room, audience chamber, tapestry chamber, and the stunning Hall of Mirrors.
Located just 30 minutes from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Linderhof sits near the enchanting village of Oberammergau—world-famous for its Passion Play, performed once every ten years. A visit here is a journey into the heart of Bavarian history, art, and legend.
Day 6: Neuschwanstein Castle
Take a day trip to King Ludwig II's fairy-tale castle near Füssen (1.5 hours by car or guided tour). Visit Hohenschwangau Castle as well if time allows.
Day 7: Mittenwald and Departure
Visit Mittenwald – the hidden gem often called “The Village of a Thousand Violins” nestled in the heart of the Alps along the Isar river, right on the border between Austria and German. Just a 20-minute drive from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, this rural mountain village offers a perfect escape into the traditional alpine charm with breathtaking scenery and rich cultural heritage.
